Neben dem NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester unter seinem Chefdirigenten Thomas Hengelbrock standen im Laufe des Abends Gastsolisten wie Philippe Jaroussky, Hanna-Elisabeth Müller, Wiebke Lehmkuhl, Pavol Breslik und Bryn Terfel auf der Elphi-Bühne. Wie aus Hamburg zu hören war erhielt der von Warner Music vermarktete Countertenor Philippe Jaroussky zum Abschluss, als alle Künstler des Eröffnungskonzerts noch einmal auf die Bühne gebeten wurden, den größten Applaus.
